Delegation of Youth from Sri Lanka visits CIIT Abbottabad

A nine member delegation of youth from Sri Lanka visited CIIT Abbottabad on 20 November 2013. The delegation was on a week-long visit to Pakistan on the invitation of the Principal, Modernage School and College, Abbottabad.

The delegation was led by Mr. Wasanta Koruna Ratna. The other members mostly had completed their higher School and college education or were preparing for graduate studies. The delegation was accompanied by Modernage School teachers Mrs. Kokab Qazi, Mr. Fazl-u-Rehman and two students of the School. The guests were received by Dr Arshid Pervez and Dr Amjad Hassan on campus and were escorted to the conference room where Dr Amjad Hassan gave them a presentation about the CIIT. The guests were very keen and impressed by the system and the pace of growth of the CIIT. They raised various questions about the academic regulations and students behavioral issues and the way CIIT administration deals with all this.

Afterwards the Director hosted tea in the honor of the guests and presented them with COMSATS’s souvenirs. The delegation leader Mr. Wasanta also reciprocated with souvenir to the director inscribed with beautiful word about the friendship between Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Dr. Amjad Hassan then accompanied the guests to the library and various laboratories in A- and Z-block. The guests also visited class rooms, spent some time with the students and exchanged pleasant feelings. A group photo was taken before they left CIIT with very pleasant memories.
