Independence Day Celebrations

As usual, the Independence Day was celebrated in a befitting manner in CIIT Abbottabad on 14 August 2014. The entire campus was decorated with lights and buntings. It was attended by faculty, staff, students and the families of faculty and staff. The proceedings started with the recitation from the Holy Quran followed by flag hoisting. The acting director Dr Shahid Khattak graced the occasion as chief guest. 


There was a march past of the security staff to salute the national flag. The students sang milli naghmas’, the faculty members delivered speeches highlighting the importance of the day. There was a festive mood and everybody seemed to be enjoying the occasion. The children of the faculty and staff also enjoyed a ride on very well decorated buggy.

The chief guest in his speech thanked all for their participation and their respective roles in the celebrations. In his speech he recounted the achievements of all the stalwarts which culminated in the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims. He also paid very rich tributes to Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the father of the nation.
