65th Convocation

65th Convocation of COMSATS Institute of Information Technology was held at CIIT Abbottabad campus on 22 September 2014. Rector CIIT Dr S.M. Junaid Zaidi (H.I., S.I.) graced the ceremony as Chief Guest. The event was attended by the graduating students, parents of the graduating students, members of Academic Council, Board of Governors, faculty members and other distinguished guests from various fields of life.

626 students from the Faculty of Sciences, Business Administration, Information Sciences & Technology and Engineering after a grueling stay of 4 years for undergraduate and 2 years for the graduate studies successfully completed the requirement of the curriculum and were admitted in their respective faculties.

Director CIIT Abbottabad Prof. Dr Khan Gul Jadoon presented the annual report. He congratulated the graduating students and their parents and advised the students to base their practical life on the principles of honesty, sincerity and truthfulness. He informed the august gathering that an area measuring 600 Kanal had been acquired for the construction of second campus of CIIT Abbottabad for which Rs. 900 Million have been approved. He further stated that CIIT Abbottabad's chapter which was set up in 2001 with only 121 students and 3 undergraduate programs currently has 5600 students, 480 faculty members including 180 PhDs, 17 undergraduate and 23 graduate programs. 


Students representative in his speech expressed his gratitude to worthy RECTOR, Director, parents, teachers and all the staff associated with COMSATS for their role in their success and for inculcating in them the values that will govern the students lives and will help them in becoming good human beings.

Rector CIIT Dr S.M.Junaid Zaidi advised the graduating students to payback the nation with their skills and professional knowledge. He stated that graduating youth has to take on multiple challenges facing Pakistan.
