Visit of Delegation from the Republic of Azerbaijan

On the invitation of Malik Saad Memorial Sports Trust, Peshawar, a three member high profile delegation of Republic of Azerbaijan visited Khyber Pakhtunkwa on 19-23 November 2014. They requested to visit CIIT Abbottabad during their visit. This delegation accompanied by the seven members of the Malik Saad Memorial Sports Trust visited CIIT Abbottabad on Saturday, 22 November 2014.

Director CIIT Abbottabad Prof. Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon, Additional Registrar Mr. Saadat Iqbal, Head Department of Development Studies, CIIT Abbottabad Dr. Bahadar Nawab, Incharge ERC Col Anjum Shah (Retd.), and Dr. Amjad Hassan, Department of Environmental Sciences, CIIT Abbottabad welcomed the delegation.

Delegation comprised the following members:

  • Mr. Vugar Ahmadov, Head of the delegation and Senior Adviser Sports Department, Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic.
  • Mr. Aliniyaz Mirzayev, Head of the Football Sector, Ministry of Youth and Sports
  • Mr. Nurlan Mardan, Adviser at the International Relations Department, Ministry of Youth and Sports

They were given a brief presentation on CIIT Abbottabad, by Additional Registrar on CIIT Abbottabad in the conference room. Mr. Nurlan Mardan (Advisor at International Relations, Ministry of Youth and Sports) translated the conversations and the presentations’ key points.

After the briefing and the presentation, Director CIIT Abbottabad thanked the guests and appreciated their visit to CIIT Abbottabad and the city for the first time. The delegation appreciated all efforts being done by CIIT Abbottabad in the field of research and teaching. They showed keen interest in the Sports of CIIT Abbottabad and the related extra-curricular activities. Later, souvenirs were also exchanged among the Director CIIT Abbottabad and the delegation from Azerbaijan.

After the presentation and brief discussion, a short campus visit took place followed by lunch for the guests in the Director office. The delegation left with a vote of thanks.
