Visit of Mr Shehryar Khan Afridi, Honorable Minister of State, Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Minister of State for Narcotics

Mr Shehryar Khan Afridi, Honorable Minister of State, Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON), Minister of State for Narcotics visited COMSATS University Abbottabad campus on December 4, 2019 to give a motivational talk to the students of Abbottabad campus. Honorable Minister travelled from Islamabad on the morning and reached the hall in time. About 400 students consisting of both Pakistani and Afghan Nationals attended the session. His address started after playing the national anthem of Pakistan followed by the national Anthem of Afghanistan. He insisted that Afghans are our brothers and we will facilitate and help them as much as we can. Their respect is our respect.

He emphasized in his talk that we are a Muslim nation and we must instil in ourselves the true spirit of Islam. He said the youth of Pakistan are the asset of the nation and they must hold the reigns of this country with full strength and honor. He emphasized that we must consider ourselves honor worthy for ourselves, then the people around us will honor and respect us too. To the female students he said that they are the nation builders and they must study and work hard to bear this responsibility. At conclusion of his talk, students had a question and answer session with him, both male and female students asked him queries related to Afghanistan and Pakistan relations.

Prof. Dr Arshid Pervez in his vote of thanks lauded the efforts of the Minister, and advised the Afghan students to work hard and bring laurels to their country. Honorable Minister was presented with a souvenir by the campus Director. The Minister had a group photograph with all the students present in the hall. At conclusion, all the students gathered around him requesting for selfies and photos. He was given a visit of the campus and after serving lunch, he left the campus.
