Seerat Conference @ CIIT Abbottabad.

The Conference comprised of two sessions. First session started at 10:00 am and lasted till 01:30 PM. It was a very blessed event that began with recitation from the Holy Quran followed by Na’at. Dr. Nasir Ali, Assistant Professor, Humanities Department and Convener Seerat Conference welcomeDepartment of Humanities, CIIT Abbottabad organized Seerat Conference on March 7, 2011 at Azeem Shehzad Memorial Hall. Focus of the conference was “Seerat un Nabi (PBUH) Aur d the guest speakers and paid homage to the enthusiastic endeavors of Professor Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon, Director, CIIT, Abbottabad and Dr. Syed Amjad Farid Hasnu, Dean Faculty of Business Administration, in the organization of the event. The first keynote speaker was a renowned Islamic Scholar, Dr. Mirajul Islam Zia, Professor, Islamic Studies, University of Peshawar. Dr. Miraj holds PhD in Quranic Studies from University of Leeds (UK) and is honored to have two Post Doctorates, one in Interfaith Studies from Oxford (UK) and other in Religion in America from New York University (USA). Talking on the political life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Dr. Miraj highlighted the role of the Holy Prophet as a great politician and the need of sound political knowledge in current scenario. Later, Dr. Abdul Rashid (SI) Professor Islamic Studies Karachi University and a renowned Islamic scholar spoke on the importance of Tolerance and ‘Haqooq ul Ibad’ (Rights of the fellow beings) in Islam. He referred to the events from the life of Holy Prophet (PBUH) that highlighted the importance of rights of fellow beings. In his speech Dr. Abdul Rashid also thanked the Worthy Director for his personal efforts in the holding of Seerat Conference at CIIT Abbottabad. The first session ended with a brief note from Director CIIT Abbottabad where he thanked the speakers for sparing their time and gracing the occasion as speakers.

Second session started at 2:30 PM and continued till 4:30 PM. Meanwhile, the students of CIIT Abbottabad expressed their love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by delivering speeches in his honor. The soulful words of the young and zealous speakers revived the faith of the audience. GM Administration Engineer Nazir Ahmed, emphasized on the need of following the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in today’s World. The session was concluded by Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon who appreciated the efforts of the organizers for excellent arrangements of the Conference. The event concluded with presentation of souvenirs to the guest speakers and certificates to the participants by the worthy Director.
