PROFESSOR DR. JAMSHED IQBAL (Tamgha–i-Imtiaz), Head, Centre for Advanced Drug Research (CADR) Department of Pharmacy, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, has been awarded the prestigious Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) for the recognition of his contribution to the field of Chemistry. Prof. Iqbaljoined Department of Pharmacyas Associate Professor in 2007and pursued his research interests at the interface of Chemistry and Biochemistry. Prof. Iqbal gets reputation for his seminal work in the area of Medicinal Chemistry, Enzyme kinetics, Natural products chemistry, Drug discovery and metabolism, Molecular modeling, Molecular toxicology. Prof. Iqbal has developed Research Collaboration with International/National Universities to strengthen his ongoing research.
Prof. Jamshed Iqbal obtained a Ph.D. degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Bonn, Germany in 2005. Dr. Iqbal then continued as a postdoc in Pharmaceutical Chemistry Department at the University of Bonn, Germany till 2008. From 2009 to 2010, he did postdoc at Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Since 2010, he has been working as faculty COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus. In addition to the RSC, Prof. Iqbal is also the Member of Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB) and Member of German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG). Recently, He was awarded Tamgha–i-Imtiaz from Government of Pakistan in 2012 and Gold Medal from Pakistan Academy of Sciences, a high-status scientific body at national level, in 2017.
Prof Iqbal until now has published more than 190 research articles with an Impact Factor of above 550 and published in peer review journals at national and international level with his 15 Ph.D. scholars. Prof. Iqbal passion and services in teaching, research and training of student at Mphil/PhD level is admirable.
