Prize distribution ceremony for spring 2011 was held on Friday, December 30, 2011 in Azeem Shahzad Memorial Hall, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Abbottabad. Ceremony started with recitation of few verses from the Holy Quran by Mr. Abdul Hadi from Computer Science department. A welcome note was presented by Ms. Amber Sardar, Assistant Registrar, Students Affairs, CIIT Abbottabad.
The ceremony was conducted to honour CIIT star students with their certificates and cheques on their outstanding academic performances. It is the biggest and foremost goal of CIIT Abbottabad that it initiates and encourages the students for their hard work and sincerity by all possible means. The students and staffs are encouraged for good work in different fields and duly awarded for their bright accomplishments.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony brings forward the ability of the university in public to keep instances of brilliance for others and encourage them for something alike. Worthy Director CIIT Abbottabad Prof. Dr. Khan Gul Jadoon congratulated the position holders.
Prize distribution ceremonies are a source of stimulation for the juniors and also a way of cherishing the achievements of the institution in an academic session. There are different fields of performances-academic and non-academic that are worthy to be honored. All these fields are taken into consideration and any good work that brings good name to the institute is accordingly prized.
One such non-academic achievement was brought to CIIT Abbottabad by COMSATS Literary Society (CLS) while competing with 44 universities of Pakistan and taking a second place in the "All Pakistan Bi-Lingual Declamation Contest held in PAF Risalpur on November 22-25, 2011" - One of Pakistan's most prestigious and tough declamation contests. The brilliant CIIT stars of that event are:
Mr. Anees Wajid (FA08-BBA-087) (Spoke on Humorous topic)
Mr. Hassan Jamil (FA10-BTN-057) (spoke on Serious topic)
Afterwards Certificates and cheques were distributed to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holders by Worthy Director and their respective Heads of Departments. A total of 230 students were prized and a total amount of Rs. 7, 59,000 was distributed among the students.
