Computer Science Labs
The Department of Computer Science has 11 fully equipped computer labs with multimedia facilities, providing modern computing and networking resources to support teaching, research, and practical training. The labs collectively contain more than 480 desktop systems of various configurations, including Lenovo, Dell, and HP systems equipped with Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, 8 GB to 24 GB RAM, SSD/NVMe storage, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, and LED monitors ranging from 17 to 22 inches. The labs have been upgraded periodically between 2016 and 2025 to ensure availability of up-to-date computing infrastructure. In addition, the networking lab is equipped with Cisco 2800 Series routers and Catalyst 2960 switches to facilitate hands-on networking and communication experiments.
Open Lab
The Department also maintains an Open Lab comprising 30 desktop computer systems for students to perform academic and project-related tasks during free hours. The lab is equipped with Intel Core i3 3rd Generation processors operating at 3.3 GHz, 4 GB DDR3 RAM, 500 GB storage, Gigabit Ethernet connectivity, Intel integrated graphics, and Philips 18.5-inch LED monitors.
FYP Labs
The Department has two dedicated Final Year Project (FYP) Labs to facilitate project development, research activities, and collaborative student work. Each lab is equipped with 10 desktop computer systems featuring Intel Core i3 processors, 4 GB RAM, and 1 TB HDD storage capacity. These labs provide students with a dedicated environment for software development, testing, documentation, and project implementation related to their final year projects.
Post Graduate Lab
There are two dedicated labs for graduate students where they can perform research activities.
Specialized Lab
The Department also maintains a specialized High-Performance Computing (HPC) Lab to support advanced computing, research, and GPU-based applications. The lab houses 5 GPU-enabled systems designed for high-performance computational tasks such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, simulation, and research-oriented projects. The facility provides students and faculty with a dedicated environment for conducting resource-intensive experiments and advanced software development activities.
Physics & DLD Lab
The physics lab consists of 18 categories of equipment. Electrical and measurement tools dominate the list, including Digital Power Supplies, three DMM models, AMMs, an LCR meter, Vernier Calipers, and Micrometer Screw Gauges. Optical equipment such as Spectrometers, Sodium Lamps, Ripple Tanks, and Laser Guns are also present. A significant portion of the inventory — includes Breadboards, Compass Needles, Bar Magnets, Photocells, and Melde’s Apparatus.
The DLD (Digital Logic Design) lab contains 15 newly acquired PCs (Core i7, 8GB RAM, 500GB Hard Drive, Windows 11 Pro) as its primary resource. Additionally, 13 Logic Trainers, 4 MTS 86-C units and 3 DMM (UT 33) units have also been brought.
