BS degree in Geology or Geophysics is what you need to start a rewarding career related to the opportunities and challenges posed by the dynamic Earth. We have several national and multinational companies in Pakistan that are engaged in exploration and exploitation activities in the oil and mineral sectors. These companies have achieved important milestones in oil and gas discoveries and mineral exploration. They got acknowledgment of such achievements through the continued effort of geologists & geophysicists. Therefore, geoscientists get job opportunities in government organizations and private national and multinational companies including petroleum, engineering, mining, and environmental firms.  Apart from the induction of the geoscientists by the industry, academia also offers positions for the geoscientists where they can avail teaching and research opportunities.  A large number of alumni of the Department of Earth Sciences, CUI Abbottabad are working in oil and gas companies, engineering and geotechnical firms for dams, tunnels and highways construction, mineral exploration companies, and government organizations in Pakistan and abroad.
