Research Projects

  1. A research project proposal on “Iodine in Soils, Plants and Waters in Relation to Health Implications in Human Beings” approved for the award of Rs 5.43 million (45000 USD) from Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan under NRPU. The final project report has been submitted in Dec. 2019 to conclude the project. Several research articles on Iodine from the project research have already been published in peer reviewed journals. Project is successfully completed and received Project Completion Certificate (PCC) from HEC.
  2. A research Study “To investigate the changing Patterns in Livelihoods in Post Earthquake Scenario in District Battagram” worth Rs. 0.23 million funded by Save The Children. May-August, 2014.
  3. Organized a six days training as Training Consultant on “Organic Kitchen gardening techniques, collective business concepts & proper documentation (June 9 to 14, 2014)” for female community at Oghi in coordination with Oghi Development Organization.
  4. A research survey on “Study to explore potential existing women enterprise and the prospects of cooperative development at OGHI, Mansehra” worth Rs 0.2 million in 2013. A number of female students were involved in the various aspects of study.
  5. An MoU was signed with a local NGO, Oghi Development Organization (ODO) working in Oghi, Mansehra and funded by Action Aid (Pakistan) for a Research Project on “Impact and future prospects of organic farming practices at Oghi, Mansehra”, of worth Rs. 0.3 million in June 2012. During the study various field visits were made to the various villages of Tehsil Oghi for survey, social data collection through questionnaires, collected soils and waters samples for their chemical analysis with the main objective of investigating the impacts of organic farming system on the local farmers of Oghi and its future aspects in terms of socio- economic development of the people of Oghi. A student of MS of CIIT was engaged in the project as Research Associate.
