Internal Scholarships at CUI Abbottabad for Fall 2025 and Spring 2026

1. COMSATS Abbottabad Merit Scholarships (CAMS):

COMSATS Abbottabad Merit Scholarship (CAMS) is initially for first semester students based on the marks in their prior qualification. Scholarship is subject to maintaining an average class of 30 students per class in Fall 2024 session and an average class of 15 students in Spring 2025 session. The following programs are included:

  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology
  • Bachelor of Science in Economics
  • Bachelor of Science in Geology
  • Bachelor of Science in Geophysics
  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
  • Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology
  • Bachelor of Science in Microbiology

Fee waiver under Categories

  • CAT-A ……………………… 60,000/- fee waiver

At the time of Admission

Eligibility criteria for CAT-A ………………. ≥ 70 % marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

Eligibility criteria for CAT-B ………………. ≥ 65 % to < 70% marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

Eligibility criteria for CAT-C ………………. ≥ 60 % to < 65% marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

  • The percentage of Intermediate will be calculated as per the merit calculation rules of CUI where the result is awaited etc.
  • Scholarship would be awarded provisionally after the completion of admission requirements by the Incharge Student Affairs.
  • Incharge Student Affairs will share the verified list of CAMS awardees with Incharge Student Development Center soon after the completion of Admission process and within the first three weeks after the start of semester.
  • Readmitted students (after DI) in 1st semester will be also eligible for the said scholarship.
  • The CAMS scholarships will be merit based. If a student is not awarded CAMS scholarship at the time of admission, he/she cannot be awarded CAMS scholarship in the next semesters.
  • The scholarship categories for above mentioned programs would be mentioned in the merit list so that the potential candidates can plan their admission in time.
  • The candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria as per the admission policy of CUI for these programs.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship, along with its associated conditions, at its discretion at any time.

CAMS Scholarship Policy for Subsequent Semesters:

To maintain eligibility for CAMS scholarship categories, students must meet the following criteria:

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.5 and above will be awarded CAT-A … 60,000/- fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.3 to < 3.5 will be awarded CAT-B … 50,000/- fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.0 to < 3.3 will be awarded CAT-C … 40,000/- fee waiver

  • The scholarship awardee list will be prepared based on the CGPA of the previous semester.
  • The students must have registered normal/regular load of courses and have appeared in final exam.
  • The scholarship will be suspended if a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester. It may be resumed in the next semester if the student meets the scholarship criteria.
  • Re-admitted students will be considered for scholarship eligibility in the respective semester, provided they meet all necessary conditions.
  • Students will be eligible for only one scholarship at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, provided the total tuition fee waiver does not exceed 100%.
  • The scholarship is applicable only within the normal program duration and is not available for extended program durations.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship and its conditions at any time, at its discretion.

2. Academic Excellence Scholarship:

Academic Excellence Scholarship is for first semester students based on the marks in Intermediate or Equivalent in their prior qualification. The following programs are included

  1. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Electronics Engineering (EEE)
  2. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (EE)

Fee waiver under Categories:

  • CAT-A ………………….…… 70,000/- fee waiver

  • CAT-C …………………….. 30,000/- fee waiver

At the time of Admission:

Eligibility criteria for CAT-A ………………. ≥ 75% marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

Eligibility criteria for CAT-B ………………. ≥ 70% to < 75% marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

Eligibility criteria for CAT-C ………………. ≥ 65% to < 70% marks in Intermediate or Equivalent

Academic Excellence Scholarship Policy for Subsequent Semesters:

To maintain Academics Excellence scholarship categories, students must meet the following criteria:

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.5 & above will be awarded CAT-A … 70,000/- fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.3 to < 3.5 will be awarded CAT-B … 50,000/- fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.0 to < 3.3 will be awarded CAT-C … 30,000/- fee waiver

3. Shining Star Scholarship:

Shining Star Scholarship is for first semester students based on the Grade Point (GP) Score in their prior qualification. The following programs are included:

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Data Analytics
  • Bachelor of Science in English
  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • Bachelor of Science in Medical Lab Technology
  • Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with Data Science

Fee waiver under Categories:

Shining Star Scholarship Policy for Subsequent Semesters:

To maintain Shining Star scholarship categories, students must meet the following criteria:

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.9 will be awarded CAT-A … Rs. 40,000 Tuition fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.85 to < 3.9 will be awarded CAT-B … Rs. 30,000 Tuition fee waiver

Students maintain CGPA of ≥ 3.8 to < 3.85 will be awarded CAT-C … Rs. 20,000 Tuition fee waiver

  • The scholarship awardee list will be prepared based on the CGPA of the previous semester.
  • The students must have registered normal/regular load of courses and have appeared in final exam.
  • The scholarship will be suspended if a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester. It may be resumed in the next semester if the student meets the scholarship criteria.

4. Merit Based Scholarship for MS and MBA

MS and MBA students will be considered for categories-based scholarship upon successful admission in all MS and MBA programs.

Fee waiver under Categories:

At the time of Admission:

Eligibility criteria for CAT-A ………………. ≥ 80 Grade Point (GP) on merit list

Eligibility criteria for CAT-B ………………. ≥ 70 to < 80 Grade Point (GP) on merit list

Eligibility criteria for CAT-C ………………. ≥ 60 to < 70 Grade Point (GP) on merit list

  • Lists for first semester will be prepared by Departmental Graduate Coordinators and sent to Graduate Office.
  • Scholarship would be awarded provisionally after the completion of admission requirements. Incharge Graduate Office will share the verified list of these awardees with Incharge Student Development Center soon after the completion of Admission process and within the first three weeks after the start of semester.
  • This scholarship will be merit based.
  • The candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria as per the admission policy of CUI for these programs.
  • If students register for a thesis in 3rd or 4th semester along with a repeat subject for improvement, their previous category will still be applicable.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship, along with its associated conditions, at its discretion at any time.

MS & MBA Scholarship Policy for Subsequent Semesters:

To maintain MS & MBA scholarship categories, students must meet the following criteria:

  • These awardees will maintain following CGPA for continuation of the scholarship in the subsequent semester.
Category Concession CGPA Requirement
A 35,000/- fee waiver ≥ 3.7 & above
B 30,000/- fee waiver ≥ 3.5 to < 3.7
C 25,000/- fee waiver ≥ 3.3 to < 3.5
  • In subsequent semesters, the scholarship awardee list will be prepared based on the CGPA of the previous semester.
  • The students must have registered normal/regular load of courses and have appeared in final exam.
  • In graduate programs:
  • For 1st and 2nd semesters: minimum 04 courses (12 credit hours) shall be registered
  • For 3rd and 4th semesters: minimum 02 courses or 01 course of thesis (i.e. 06 credit hours) shall be registered
  • If a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester, the scholarship will be suspended for the current semester. It will be resumed in the next semester once the student fulfils the scholarship criteria.
  • In subsequent semesters, re-admitted students will also be considered for the scholarship competition in the respective semester, provided they meet the necessary conditions.
  • Students will be eligible for only one scholarship at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, provided the total tuition fee waiver does not exceed 100%.
  • The scholarship is applicable only within the normal program duration and is not available for extended program durations.
  • Intra-disciplinary deficiency courses approved by the Board of Studies (BOS) in 2024 will not be included in the Fall 2024 – Spring 2025 scholarship notification. Such deficiency cases will be considered starting from the Spring 2025 semester onward. For scholarship purposes, the first semester will be treated as a zero (non-counting) semester. The students’ merit will be calculated from the subsequent semester. If a student qualifies for a scholarship, it will be carried forward and applied in the 4th semester (excluding the zero semester).
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship and its conditions at any time, at its discretion.

5. Haroon Rashid Scholarship for Students Attaining 4.00 GPA:

  • Students (belonging to all undergraduate programs of 2nd semester and onwards) securing 4.00 GPA or CGPA in the previous semester will be awarded with 75% tuition fee waiver in recognition of their hard work.
  • The above-mentioned scholarship will be subject to the following conditions.
  • In subsequent semesters, the students must secure 4.00 GPA to maintain the award.
  • If a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester, the scholarship will be suspended for the current semester. It will be resumed in the next semester once the student fulfils the scholarship criteria.
  • In subsequent semesters, re-admitted students will also be considered for the scholarship competition in the respective semester, provided they meet the necessary conditions.
  • Students will be eligible for only one scholarship at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, provided the total tuition fee waiver does not exceed 100%.
  • The scholarship is applicable only within the normal undergraduate program duration and is not available for extended program durations.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship and its conditions at any time, at its discretion.

6. CUI Need Based Scholarship:

Financial assistance will be provided to extremely needy students. The Student Development Center, in collaboration with the Campus Scholarship Evaluation Committee, shall interview and decide the eligibility of such students.

The students must meet the basic eligibility criteria to be admitted to any degree program. If the student and their family are unable to support their education — due to reasons such as the sudden demise of a parent, illness of student/parent, or unforeseen circumstances during studies — the following concession will be provided:

Conditions:

  • The scholarship will be entertained only in special cases.
  • The concessions mentioned will be admissible to students of all undergraduate programs.

In Subsequent Semesters:

  • To maintain the scholarship, students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
  • Students must have registered normal/regular load of courses and have appeared in final exams.
  • The scholarship will be suspended if a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester. It may be resumed in the next semester if the student meets the scholarship criteria.
  • Re-admitted students will be considered for scholarship eligibility in the respective semester, provided they meet all necessary conditions.
  • Students will be eligible for only one scholarship at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, provided the total tuition fee waiver does not exceed 100%.

7. Scholarships for the Students of Dhamtor Including Adjoining Areas (Thai, Maira Gijra, Takia, and Dottar):

CUI Abbottabad has acquired approx. 600 kanal of land in Dhamtor for the establishment of its new campus. In line with its corporate social responsibility and to foster a sense of ownership among the local community, scholarships will be granted to students belonging to Dhamtor and adjoining areas who wish to pursue higher education at CUI Abbottabad.

At the Time of Admission:

  • The applicant must express their interest in availing this scholarship opportunity during admission.
  • Valid residential evidence from a relevant Governmental body must be provided for the mentioned localities.
  • Eligibility Criteria:
    • SSC or Equivalent: 70% or above marks
    • HSSC or Equivalent: 60% or above marks

Due to a limited number of scholarships, candidates who secure the top five Grade Points (GP) in the list (prepared for this scholarship) will be offered the scholarship opportunity. If a selected candidate does not join, the offer will be extended to the next candidate in the GP merit list.

  • Only one scholarship may be availed at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, and the total fee waiver must not exceed 100%.
  • The scholarship is only applicable within the normal program duration and not in extended durations.

8. Special Scholarship of Backward Areas:

Ten seats will be allocated for students from backward areas — especially from Gilgit Baltistan and the backward regions of Hazara Division (District Kala Dhaka, Battagram, Kohistan, and Upper Tanawal areas including Tehsil Darband). These scholarships apply to the undergraduate programs of:

  • Environmental Sciences
  • Geology
  • Economics
  • Development Studies

Scholarship Details:

  • Concession: 50% tuition fee waiver
  • Eligibility (at time of admission): Minimum 50% marks in Intermediate

The scholarship will be awarded only at the time of admission.

In Subsequent Semesters:

  • Students must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.7 to continue receiving the scholarship.
  • Students must have registered a normal/regular load of courses and appeared in final exams.
  • The scholarship will be suspended if the student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course or semester, or is absent in the previous semester. It may resume in the next semester upon meeting the scholarship criteria.
  • Re-admitted students will also be considered for eligibility in the respective semester, provided they meet all necessary conditions.
  • Students will be eligible for only one scholarship at a time, except for the Sibling Concession, provided the total tuition fee waiver does not exceed 100%.
  • The scholarship is applicable only within the normal undergraduate program duration and is not available for extended program durations.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship and its conditions at any time, at its discretion.

9. Sibling Concession:

  • Sibling concession of Rs. 16,000/- will be awarded to students if one or more siblings are enrolled in undergraduate programs across the CUI system.
  • The student must have a CGPA above 2.0.
  • The sibling concession can be awarded alongside any other internal scholarship, provided the total fee concession/waiver does not exceed the tuition fee amount.
  • The concession is admissible only for the normal duration of the undergraduate degree program.

10. General Conditions:

  • In undergraduate programs, the full load of courses will be considered as a normal/regular load (i.e., the number of courses studied by a regular student in a class).
  • If a student freezes, withdraws, drops, fails a course/subject, or is absent in the previous semester, the scholarship will be suspended for the current semester and resumed in the next semester after fulfilling the required conditions.
  • If a student participates in an exchange program and maintains the required CGPA according to the host university’s scholarship criteria, the internal scholarship will continue based on the maintained CGPA.
  • In graduate programs:
    • For the first two semesters, a minimum of 4 courses (12 credit hours) must be registered.
    • For the 3rd and 4th semesters, a minimum of 2 courses or 1 thesis course (6 credit hours) must be registered.
  • Only one internal scholarship is allowed at a time, except for the sibling concession.
  • One internal and one external scholarship may be allowed provided the combined scholarship amount does not exceed the full semester fee. Otherwise, the internal scholarship will be reduced accordingly by the Accounts Section.
  • If a student opts for one internal scholarship out of two available, they cannot switch to another internal scholarship later.
  • Students on scholarship are not allowed to leave the program or university without completing their degree. In such cases (including DI/Transfer of program), full fee for all semesters will become payable, and previously awarded scholarships will be revoked.
  • If a student avails internal scholarship and later receives an external scholarship in the last semester, and the total exceeds the tuition fee, the internal scholarship will be adjusted across different semesters.
  • All internal scholarships are non-refundable. If a student requests a refund, the scholarship amount will be deducted from the refundable fee.
  • All scholarships are merit-based. If a student is not awarded a scholarship at the time of admission (except for Army Wards and Sibling Concessions), they cannot receive a merit-based scholarship in subsequent semesters.
  • All internal scholarships must be processed under one umbrella — Student Development Center at CUI Abbottabad.
  • CUI Abbottabad reserves the right to modify or cancel any scholarship and its conditions at any time, at its discretion.
