An Inclusive Training Program Held at CUI Abbottabad Campus

The Faculty Development Academy of COMSATS University Islamabad organized three trainings for faculty, officers, and staff members on how to write successful research projects and “effective communication skills  in CUI Abbottabad campus on April 29, 2025.

The event started with opening address by the Director Campus Prof.Dr. Shahid Khattak and Incharge Faculty Development Academy (FDA) CUI, Mr. Ali Tawab Baloch. In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Shahid Khattak stressed the importance of research and communication skills in today’s academic and professional landscape. He highlighted how such initiatives contribute to institutional growth and individual career advancement. The training featured interactive sessions, equipping participants with practical tools to draft compelling research proposals and improve workplace communication. Attendees praised the program for its relevance and engaging delivery. This capacity-building initiative reflects CUI Abbottabad’s commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and research excellence. Similar programs are expected to be held in the future to further empower faculty and staff.

The first training was organized on “how to write successful research projects” for faculty members working in different academic departments of Abbottabad campus. Professor Dr Bahadur Nawab, Development Studies, CUI Abbottabad and Dr Faisal Khan, Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering CUI Abbottabad were resource persons of the training. The training was warmly participated by the faculty members to understand about research grants, funding agencies and how to tap and write effective successful research projects.

The second training was organized on “effective communication skills” for academic and administrative HoDs of CUI Abbottabad campus. The training was participated by all academic and administrative HoDs. Mr Asif Malik Deputy Registrar CUI PS was resource person. The training was organized to enhance the communication skills of HoDs. The training was warmly participated and appreciated by the participants.

The third training was organized to “enhance  communication skills” for administrative staff working in public dealing offices of CUI Abbottabad campus. The training was attended by large number of staff members. Professor Dr Sardar Mohammed, Humanities Department, CUI Abbottabad campus was resource person.

All  participants appreciated the effort of resource persons and FDA in successfully arranging meaningful training programs and engaging them to achieve overall objectives of the trainings. Incharge FDA acknowledges efforts of Director CUI Abbottabad campus and his team in making excellent arrangements of training programs.
