QEC background

Quality is an inherent and distinguished characteristic through which an academic institution can guarantee planning, maintenance and improvement of its education system.“Quality begins on the inside and then works its way out”. (Bob Moawad)

To achieve and ensure the quality at CUI ATD, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) started working in 2007 under the directions of HEC, taking a progressive mission towards quality assurance in education, research and development. Since its conception, QEC has taken bold initiatives to attain, manage and enhance quality at the institutional level including management of academic and administration related system of university. The quality maintaining processes started with training on quality management systems ISO 9001 new version at CUI Abbottabad campus in 2010, and then quality maintaining journey went on. The QEC, as an essential component of CUI management, is dedicated to an effective implementation of Quality Standards, processes of Quality Assurance and Management System, and continually reviewing the progress for enhancement of quality as per CUI Quality Policy. The QEC serves as a focal point to achieve the objective of quality learning standards by auditing academic standards and the quality of teaching, learning and management in each subject area. CUI QEC Abbottabad campus has obtained ISO 9001-2008 certification in year 2011, and is now heading towards next level of ISO certification i.e., ISO 9001-2015 revised version as priority quality objective. This is how QEC has undertaken the development of a quality mindset in the university at student, faculty, and management levels, so that practicing quality culture has become one of the best practices at CUI.
