Overview

Introduction:

As a result of global economic crisis the financial systems in the world are getting under more and more scrutiny. This program will provide a strong foundation in quantitative, economic, accounting and finance subjects and aspire to enable the professionals to devise right strategies and decisions. The banking sector in developing countries is always growing because of vacuum in the finance industry.

Objectives of the Course:

At the moment the Banking and Finance industry is experiencing a severe shortage of experts and trained workforce particularly in the Islamic Financial Services area. A primary objective of this program is to develop knowledgeable and capable executives and workforce to move quickly to key positions in the financial services sector and to demonstrate the skills necessary to tackle problems within the complex world of international finance and banking. Also it is to prepare and implement findings directed at evaluation of corporate, market, investment and risk management situations. Following are the key objectives:

  1. A systematic understanding of knowledge in Banking and Finance and provision of interface between the knowlege and practice.
  2. A critical awareness of current problems and new insights in Banking and Finance
  3. A comprehensive practical understanding of the techniques of enquiry and research used in the sector, and of how they are used to create and intrepret knowledge.
  4. An adequate conceptual understanding for evaluating current research and creating knowlege base in the banking and finance world

Eligibility:

  1. A 16 years degree in the relevant field, from an accredited educational instiitution with First Division (annual System) or CGPA 2.5/4.0 (semester System)
  2. No Third division (annual System) or D Grade (semester System) throughout the academic career
  3. GAT (General) with 50% marks minimum

Program Description

Minimum of 16 years of education in a relevant field with a 2.5/4.0 CGPA (or 60% marks in annual system). NTS-GAT score of 50% or above is mandatory.

Application and admission

At CIIT the admissions into graduate progams are offered on merit. the merit is determines on the basis of the academic record, GRE/NTS-GAT score and interview.

General Eligibility Criteria 

Pre-requisite:

  • A 16 years degree in the Masters in Development studies with OR Master’s degree/ Four years bachelor degree in social sciences, management/administrative sciences or other relevant disciplines. from an accredited institution, with minimum First division (annual system) or CGPA 2.5/4.0 (semester system) and no third division (Annual system) or ‘D’ grade (semester system) throughout academic career. 
  • NTS GAT (General) with minimum score of 50.

Program Duration:

The duration of studies for MS degree shall normally be, not less than two years and not more than four years.

Course Work:

An MS Scholar will have to complete minimum of 30 credit hours by undertaking 24 credit hours course work from approved Scheme of Studies and 6 credit hours of MS Thesis.
